After several trees on their school property were removed, Peak to Peak charter students decided to take matters into their own hands. In 2023 they organized the first Tree Summit, inviting other passionate students from other schools to attend. At the summits students learn about nature-based climate solutions and work to map their school properties, plan tree plantings, and design pollinator gardens.

The Community Forestry Corps (CFC) is an exciting new program offering a summer job opportunity for Boulder County youth aged 14 to 24 to participate in building community resilience to climate change by caring for urban tree plantings. The CFC crew will work outside, develop important job skills, learn about nature-based climate action, and give back to the land and our community.
