Play Boulder Foundation

Tree Care, Canopy Expansion and Preserving & Expanding Access to Parks & Recreation

The PLAY Boulder Foundation supports excellence in parks and recreation by mobilizing community support through education, philanthropy and advocacy.

The PLAY Boulder Foundation was founded in 1976 to work alongside the Boulder Parks & Recreation Department. These are the goals we strive to achieve each and every day:

  1. Engage the residents of Boulder in enhancing our city and improving our quality of life.

  2. Ensure that there are adequate resources to provide safe, quality recreation opportunities for all.

  3. Embody a reputable and dependable organization that fosters outstanding recreational programs and public spaces.

The Tree Trust is a program led by the PLAY Boulder Foundation to work with citizens to support trees in Boulder and promote a healthy urban canopy for years to come.

Tree Trust’s goal is to provide citizens with resources to care for their trees, tools to recognize and prevent developing diseases in the area, and the aid to retain and expand a sustainable urban canopy. Plans are underway to help expand and sustain Boulder’s urban canopy by forming new community partnerships with Cool Boulder and Tree-Plenish.
