Seeds: Cleaning with City of Boulder 2

  • Wilderness Restoration Volunteers (map)

What: Cleaning native seeds is a great way to give back and hang out with staff from the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) and other Wilderness Restoration Volunteers (WRV) community members, while learning more about local botany in a relaxing setting.

Volunteers will work on seeds collected on Boulder OSMP lands at the WRV headquarters in Longmont. The seeds have dried at the OSMP offices and we need your help to prepare them for restoration projects.

Seed cleaning is an essential activity for our agency partners, as native seeds are hard to purchase commercially. By cleaning seeds for restoration, you help to ensure that more native plants are used in restoration projects, which preserves native biodiversity and supports more resilient ecosystems.
