What: Join us for a delightful introduction to the vibrant world of local wildflowers on our Beginner Wildflower Identification Hike series.

These guided excursions are perfect for nature enthusiasts and beginners alike, offering a leisurely exploration of gentle terrain abundant with common wildflowers.

The hike focuses on simple identification techniques and insightful narratives about native plants. You'll learn to recognize and appreciate the beauty of local flora while gaining foundational skills in plant identification. This educational adventure is designed to be both informative and enjoyable, fostering a deeper connection to the natural world.

Whether you're curious about Colorado's native blooms or simply enjoy exploring different OSMP trails, our Beginner Wildflower Hike promises an enriching experience amidst stunning landscapes. Join us and embark on a journey of discovery through the colorful tapestry of wildflowers that grace our trails. Expect a 2.5 mile long hike and approximately 600 foot elevation gain. Bring layers appropriate for the weather, shoes with good tread, and water. This all-levels hike is open to everyone.

    • Plan to arrive early in case parking is busy or located a short walk from the meeting area

    • Parking at the Enchanted Mesa Trailhead is limited - alternate parking locations near the Chautauqua Trailhead and adjacent neighborhood streets

  • When: Wednesday, May 6th 4:00 - 6:00 PM

  • Where: Meet at the picnic shelter near the Enchanted Mesa Trailhead
