What: Your Neighborhood Christmas Tree Farm has been giving away trees for 19 years now! Last year they gave away their 10,300th tree. They continue to generously offer tree saplings free of charge. Come get yours while supplies last!
Details:
Located at 4340 13th, one block east of Broadway between Upland and Violet. Look for "Nelly-Belle the Carbon Cart" in front of the house and pick out your trees. Planting instructions are in a box on the cart. More information here.
The free trees are 1 – 3-foot-tall Ohio buckeyes, horse chestnuts, Colorado blue spruce, Kentucky coffee trees, and Tatarian maples. There are also some golden currants, raspberries, Chinese wisteria, and trumpet vine. More information here. All trees are drought resistant, but of course will grow faster and fix more carbon with extra water.
