Naturalist Hike: Wildflower Bonanza with Dave Sutherland

What: Join a flower treasure hunt with naturalist and award-winning environmental educator Dave Sutherland to seek out blue penstemons, lavender iris, yellow cinquefoils and orange wallflowers – plus butterfly sightings guaranteed at no extra charge! You may also meet some of the cattle grazing the property to control invasive plants and protect the flowers. The Shanahan Ridge trails loop through one of the most beautiful parts of Open Space. The pine forests and lush, wet meadows are thick with wildflowers and a haven for wildlife.

    • All are welcome for this free event, though we are limited to a group of 15 this time so please RSVP if you plan to come!

    • This is an easy 2 mile hike, mostly flat.

    • The group will meet at 1903 Lehigh Street in Boulder; free parking is available along neighborhood streets.

  • When: Wednesday, May 22, 2024; 9am-12pm.

Where: 1903 Lehigh Street - Shanahan Ridge Trail, Boulder, CO.
