Boulder County Seed Collection with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers

Seed collection sites are chosen a few days before in order to gather ripe seeds needed to return native biodiversity to nearby open space. Morning projects are a peaceful way to get out on open space properties in a quieter and cooler part of the day. Seed collections are just 3.5 hours long, and laid back in nature, but do occur off trail on uneven terrain, occasionally on steeper slopes.

The exact location of seed collections can only be determined 2-3 days prior to each event, given the varying growth rates of the many species we collect. Sites in Boulder County Open Space can range from plains sites east of Boulder to higher elevation sites (i.e. Caribou Ranch on Peak to Peak Hwy). Volunteers should be prepared for travel time up to 60 minutes from town. Once you register, you'll receive info a few days days prior about the location, directions and species you'll be collecting.
