Restoring the Climate One Meal at a Time

Zero Foodprint (ZFP) is a nonprofit organization mobilizing the food world around agricultural climate solutions.

Named “Humanitarian of the Year” by the James Beard Foundation, ZFP sees the food system as a major solution to global warming as well as a major cause.

ZFP members crowd-fund grants for farmers to switch to regenerative farming practices - proven to be the most impactful initiative yet towards solving the climate crisis.

Think of it like improving the grid - of food.

Zero Foodprint Envisions a Regenerative Food Economy that Restores our Climate.

How it works:

  1. Consumers send 1% of every purchase from a ZFP business - often just a few cents.

  2. ZFP optimally and equitably distributes Restore Grants to farmer applicants for healthy soil projects.

  3. Local, trusted conservation experts estimate the climate benefit, and help implement and verify carbon farming projects.

Our values include:

  • Regeneration

  • Collective Action

  • Justice

  • Prosperity

  • Reciprocity

Restore Colorado: (watch a short video)

Zero Foodprint teams up with farmers and ranchers across Colorado to restore our climate by changing how we grow food! Regenerative agriculture improves the health of our soil so it can do what it was designed to do: retain water, nurture a resilient crop, impart nutrients to the food we eat, and remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Many farmers and ranchers want to transition to more regenerative agriculture, but change often requires hefty upfront costs.

That’s where you come in! Diners, chefs, and food businesses who believe great food can save the planet are coming together to collect small donations that ensure farmers have the resources they need to take on climate change. You support regenerative farming in Colorado each time you patronize our member businesses, and you can contribute to the fund by visiting our website!
